Romanburg (PTY) Ltd trading as Romantiques is a one-of-a-kind vintage collectables store, situated at 14 Aberdeen Street, Hermanus, South Africa.  This venue has been a source of antique and collectable items since 2006 when it was started by an enterprising girl who needed work after school and over time it grew into a nationally recognized enterprise.  The name Romantiques carries a certain charm, recalling a time when the pace of life was slower, artifacts were made by hand and manners were altogether more refined.  It conjures up things extravagant, wild and fantastic as a visit to Romantiques itself bears out.
From humble beginnings it has developed into a landmark shop in Hermanus, with customers travelling from far and wide to browse the wide selection of stock available.  James Ludick shares the original owners’ passion and continues the values and principles that have underpinned the business. In his own words, “It is more than a shop, it is a living museum in the very heart of Hermanus”.
Entering the premises, one is struck by the vast range of items on display and for sale, from military memorabilia to vintage toys, from china to period clothing and everything in between.  Visitors who drop in for a quick visit usually end up spending hours browsing through the various sections, reliving past memories and admiring the craftsmanship of a bygone era.  Tea and coffee are available on site and visitors can enjoy a slow stroll through history.
